This is a guest post by Jen Reichter, a friend of mine and an Account Manager at Jobfox. There have been a lot of people asking us about how to better use online job listings to find roofing jobs and work, so I thought it’d be great if Jen stopped by and shared some great information about the company she works for.
Jobfox uses matching technology to ensure that you are working with a pool of candidates that meet the minimum requirements for your jobs. They will also post all of your jobs for you at no additional cost, which takes the work out of setting up the jobs and gets you to what you do best- sourcing quality candidates. Because Jobfox posts the jobs for you, all you have to do is ‘fine tune’ with some very user friendly tools, such as highlighting specific skills and turning on the ‘must have’ filters to specific industry knowledge or degree level.

As an Account Manager for Jobfox, I’ve worked with a number of construction industry clients over the years who have found that utilizing the site helped them to quickly find candidates who already had an understanding of the construction landscape. For example, by turning on a mandatory filter for construction only, candidates from this industry are instantly called up in your candidate match list. From there, you can focus on the key skill requirements for the position and begin to reach out to candidates that fit the bill. Jobfox is hardly a scam, considering that I’ve been involved in helping so many construction clients and construction job seekers connect over the years.
There are a number of time saving tools as well, such as the ability to mass forward candidates to a hiring manager or include notes that follow the candidate within your company, allowing other recruiters to see that you are interested. For those companies that do not have an applicant tracking system (ATS), Jobfox also includes many ATS-like features, such as moving candidates into Yes/Maybe/No folders, where candidates are alphabetized for easy reference. If you inactivate a job and reactivate it in a few months, your folders remain the same, so that you don’t have to go back and find those candidates a second time. Moving candidates to your YES folder also generates an email to the candidate, similar to an ATS, to notify them of your company’s interest. Do not worry, as your specific contact information is not included, but we hear from job seekers all the time how much they appreciate having some information on the company’s interest level.
For those of you who have an ATS, Jobfox also interfaces nicely with many of the ATS vendors, allowing you to ‘invite’ candidates to apply directly to your website, as well as redirecting them to your website to complete the application process. This gives you access to a unique pool of candidates that you can reference in your ATS, as statistics show there is very little overlap between Jobfox candidates and other job boards.
